Chinese-German Summer School 2023

 

RWTH Aachen University and Beijing Jiaotong University are pleased to announce and invite you to join the Chinese-German Summer School (CGSS) 2023 from August 21 to August 29 2023. The 10-day program aims at enabling young researchers to consolidate their basic theoretical knowledge and improving their research capabilities in the area of safety assessment and design of materials and structures.

Doctoral students or advanced Master's students at a German university or research institution are invited to attend.

Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the Sino-German Center for Science Promotion. Likewise, there are no costs for refreshments and lunch during the event. All participants are invited to a closing dinner at the end of CGSS23.

An exciting and varied program awaits you. Highlights are the six invited lectures from internationally recognized scientists with thematic relevance to this year's SGSS23 topic "Modeling and Simulation in Additive Manufacturing: from Design Stage to Component Reliability" (see attached program for details). At the heart of SGSS23 are the contributions of the participants and collaborative discussions. The program will be framed by laboratory visits to world-leading research facilities such as the Center of Wind Power Drives (CWD), Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) and the Center for Ageing, Reliability and Lifetime Prediction of Electrochemical and Power Electronic Systems (CARL). Another highlight is the one-day excursion to a leading hard metal manufacturer Ceratizit in Luxembourg.
