IWM - IAPK - Kolloquium "Additive Manufacturing of Hard Materials"
Additive manufacturing encompasses many different technologies, all of which have a high future potential and are correspondingly intensively researched. The additive production of very hard materials continues to pose a particular challenge. Not only beam-based processes often reach their limits.
we would like to discuss this topic with you at our next IWM - IAPK - Colloquium on 19 March 2020 "Additive Manufacturing of Hard Materials". Ten current lectures by speakers from industry and science form the basis for exciting discussions and scientific exchange.
Our top-class external speakers and scientific staff of the IWM/IAPK will give you insights into relevant questions from research and industry on the subject of additive production of hard materials. You will get an overview of where the different AM technologies in the field of the production of very hard materials currently stand and which challenges there are with different material groups. In addition to tool steels, hard metals and ceramics are also considered. As solutions we will present further developments in the field of process technology and you will also see results on how new or adapted materials for existing processes could be developed.
After the colloquium, you will have the opportunity to visit the laboratories and test halls of the IWM/IAPK institute network.
The colloquium will take place on March 19, 2020 in Aachen. Further information can be found in the programme booklet. You can register by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or, of course, by telephone at +49 241 80-95534
