Metallography conference 2019

  

 

A broadly based team from the IWM Aachen was on the road again. The Materials Week (de) in Dresden provided the setting for the annual metallography conference (de) from September 18 to 20. As visitors, employees and in the role of speakers, staff from various departments of the institute spent three days at the 53rd conference. In addition to the lectures, a large part of the exhibition on the subject of "Materials for the Future" was also open to visitors. Working groups were maintained and links with external parties were established.

Successful were Jan Xhonneux and Vanessa Derichs. With their submitted pictures they could reach the 1st and 3rd place in the traditional photo competition. This is awarded in the categories General Metallography, Teaching Materials and Cheerful Metallography. The lucky winners each received a voucher from Springer Verlag.

Save the date! The 54th Metallography Conference will take place next year from 16 to 18 September in Saarbrücken.
